The Ballerina

The red velvet curtains are closed. On the outside are thousands of tiny heads popping out of a sea of flashing lights. The dancer takes a deep and trustworthy breath before the curtain's mouth opens to the sound of cheering, like heavy rain. One movement and the clapping is silent. The music consumes the dancer's mind, as she leaps in the air. Everything smells like perfume and roses. Everything is perfect. Time is passing. Each second of the performance is becoming the past. Finally the ballerina is ending her dance with a long bow, as the rain starts pouring in the theatre. The mouth of the curtains close and the ballerina disappears.
